Tents & Equipment

These are tents designed for spring, summer and fall. They handle rain and wind well but are not built for the heaviest snow loads during extreme winter.
  • How do I know if I need an ultralight tent?
If you're planning long hikes where every gram counts, an ultralight tent (under 1-1.5 kg) is a dream for your back. If you're going to paddle or camp close to your car, comfort and space are often more important than weight.
  • What size tent should I choose?
Tents are often optimized for the number of people listed. If you want room for your backpack inside the tent or just a little extra elbow room, we recommend going up a size (e.g. a 2-person tent for one person).
  • What is the difference between Silnylon and Silpoly?
In short: Silnylon is extremely strong and lightweight but can stretch a bit when wet. Silpoly (polyester) does not absorb water and stays taut regardless of rain.

Sustainability & Care

  • How do I best take care of my tent?
Make sure the tent is completely dry before packing it up for long-term storage to avoid mold. Clean with lukewarm water and a sponge – never in the washing machine!
